ARIZONA

Capt. George Meegan was a seagoing Marine and retired some time ago. This did not stop him from continuing his leadership and expertise in the civilian world. For many years, he led a Young Marines unit which excelled under his tutelage. He is a member of most of the veteran organizations and has always played an important role as a leader, organizer and participant in their events. I met him through the Marine Corps Mustang Association where he has always been in a chapter leadership role. He has worked tirelessly coordinating with the Arizona Marine Corps JROTC programs to highlight cadet leadership. Along with his affiliation with Military Officers Association of America, Capt. Meegan coordinated our participation with the Arizona Veterans Home where we held monthly Bingo sessions for the residents and a summer BBQ. He continues to be my source for sound advice. It is no wonder that this Marine was inducted into the Arizona Veteran's Hall of Fame.
